Max the Mighty

By: Rodman Philbrick

Blurb by: Youngjin K.

Max is back, but without Freak, so he just hides in the Down Under, or his basement until the most terrifying thing happens. He is framed for almost killing Rachel’s mother. So Max runs away with the girl, Rachel, to meet Rachel’s real dad, not her step-dad, the Undertaker and the one who actually beat up Rachel’s mom. I did not like that the story had two character’s named Dippy Hippie and Hobo Joe, because those two characters really throw off the storyline of that Max and Rachel are trying to run away from the Undertaker. I liked that the story had easy dialogue so you can read the story without thinking too hard.

I would recommend this book to a friend because the book hooks you in until the end and it has a very good ending. My favorite character was the Undertaker because he always says crazy things so that they do what he wants. The main character, Max, changes from thinking he’s safe and he thinks everyone around him is safe to being a little more cautious.
