History

Massachusetts bay Colony was discovered in 1620. Massachusetts was sailed in the May Flower compact and the Speedwell. When the Speedwell broke down all the passengers had to board the Mayflower. The way the Massachusetts was settled was by accident the Mayflower was intended for much farther south but because of the dangerous water they had to land in Cape Cod. They moved to which was the Plymouth to protect them selves from Nausets Indians. The Wamponag made a treaty with the pilgrims against the Nauset Indians . An Indian man named Squanto came to meet the colonists and show them how to make crops and where to hunt. Squanto was a very important man in the colony Massachusetts because he helped them survive during the winter by making food and crops. The Pilgrims moved south because the England church forced them to belong to the England church so thy set sail to south which is now known as the Massachusetts bay Colony.

Geography

The Massachusetts colony had suitable waters and good forests for hunting and getting lumber. That is one of why the Pilgrims moved to Massachusetts. In 1636 was when Harvard college was made to support the colonies education needs. Massachusetts was a well educated colony. the pilgrims came up with a charter called the New land of Massachusetts bay. The people used to pick government until James the second took that power and ruled it himself but the colonists already felt freedom and did not want it to be taken away from them want it to be taken away from them.

People and Culture

Also another reason why most men and women wanted to move to Massachusetts Bay was because they wanted to have there religious freedom. During the time 1630-1640 300 ships came and went and dropped of twenty one thousand men women and children. Massachusetts men and women mostly all followed the Puritan beliefs. Massachusetts was a really high in education wise most were well educated almost everyone knew how to write and read. Harvard was also made and then more people wanted to learn and go to Harvard. The Puritans were also were very smart puritan wise and education. When more and more people joined in the puritan group they made laws that it was illegal to talk bad against god and beliefs of the Puritan they men and women dress accordingly on a dress nothing fancy or anything with jewelry. The men only wore pants and a plain shirt nothing else. Everyone were supposed to meet at church every sunday even though it was far walk everyone.

Economics

The colonists made fur and timber and traded with the indians and other colonies. The colonists of Massachusetts made squash and corn along all the others vegetables. They traded with New England and the thirteen colonies for other stuff like cotton. When the craftsmen arrived they helped teach other people crafts. When the crafts started to build the furniture and other woods out of wood they gave it to there neighbors and the thirteen colonies. The colonies had a good system of importing and exporting fairly. They made there living by farming and planting and trading with the other colonies.

My math proportions project was on proportions and we got to chose which options we wanted to do out of fifteen we had to pick three. The one I like the best was is buying bigger better? Buying bigger is better from my research. I did a gatorade bottle a small one cost 1.49 and a big one cost 2.49 so I divided 1.49 by 20 0z which is how many there is in the bottle and got 7.4 cents per ounce. For $2.49 I did it divided by 40 oz and got 6.2 cents for one ounce and buying bigger is better.

This graph shows how many jeans people own. The graph is a j shaped graph. There are a lot of people with 0-4 because most people do not really have fifteen to twenty jeans. Only one person has twenty to twenty four. There is a big cluster in the zero to four because the average amount of jeans people have is usually zero to four, not really twenty to twenty four. The number of Jeans I own is 4 jean. I have an average amount of jeans because very few people have more than 4 jeans. The least common is 20 -24.

As a concluding activity for our study of the Scientific Method, students worked through a variety of bacteria investigations. Students were provided a lab template which provided them with a six-step outline of the scientific method for problem solving. Using those steps and sterile nutrient agar plates, students collected bacteria in an attempt to answer their original question. Bacterial growth was documented through qualitative and quantitative observations as well as digital photographs. The following lab report is this student's attempt at a bacterial investigation. (Mr. Peter Ogden: Sixth Grade Science Teacher)

It was mostly about a kid named Stanley Yelnats the third the cool thing is that if your read Stanley backwards it spells Yelnats and Stanley spelled backward is Yelnats. Stanley is innocent of the thing they say he did which was he stole a pair of shoes the famous baseball players shoes sweet feet. He has a choice of going to jail or a camp to dig holes to find character in there self. I would recommend this book because it is something that would really happen.
