Flexible reading groups are formed and fluid throughout the year. These groups are designed for students who are discrepant from peers and reading below grade level.
District Assessments are used to determine students who are in need of this support. After reviewing all of the assessment results, the IST team will identify students students who are eligible for reading comprehension and/or fluency support. The groups are conducted largely in pull-out sessions during science or social studies time. The amount of time is determined by individual needs. Students are progress monitored while in these reading groups to determine growth, needs, and exiting.
