This book takes place in an illegal fight club and in different places. Freedom Smith always gets in trouble for fighting and beating people up. It's in his blood. Ever since the person who started fighting, people that have the same blood do the same thing. Fight. It's the only thing they're good at. Freedom's whole life is boring until one day when he got in a fight and murdered that person. Instead of going to prison, Freedom will go under cover to an illegal fight club. Darcus Knight (the one that owns the club) is finally getting what he wants: The rogue gene. Did the cops betray Freedom and send him to the cops or was it a coincidence? My favorite part in the story was when Freedom got $50,000 for finding a rich kid named Johnny Sparrow. Freedom changes throughout the story from being an reckless fighter to becoming a person who fights for the right things. I would recommend this to people who like adventure and fiction. I would give this book a 5/5 star rating.

I would recommend this book to 8-13 year old kids who like exciting books with surprising twists to compliment them. I liked the adventurous parts but did not care for the parts where the author talked about how he wrote the book. It sounds like a child's cry. She looks in the door and it turns out that a boy around her age was making the cry. It incredibly turns out that the boy is Collin Craven, in other words Mary's uncle's son. Mary didn't know that she had a cousin. Unfortunately, Collin is a very ill boy with an incredibly high temper and a very high chance of dying. He hates it when people look at him but he doesn't mind Mary. Later on in the story Mary shows him the magnificent ways of life and how you should embrace life not push it away.
I enjoyed this touching story. You never know what will happen next and it leaves you on a cliff hanger after every chapter. My only problem with this book was that it was hard to understand the language that they spoke. It is a old English accent that can be hard to follow. So anyone who is a strong reader or who loves a touching and brilliant story should read this book.

Bonnie then heard from Mrs.Slighcarp that her father and mother died in a sunken ship. They were able to capture Mrs.Slighcarp's accomplice, Mr.Grimshaw, and put him to jail. Then the policeman, Bonnie, Sylvia, and Bonnie's dad's lawyer to bring Mrs.Slighcarp to jail. The policeman and Bonnie's dad's lawyer went through a secret passageway to overhear how badly Mrs.Slighcarp treated the girls.

I liked the part when Bonnie, Sylvia, the policeman, and the lawyer were able to outsmart Mrs.Slighcarp from her devious scheme. There was nothing about the book that I did not like. My favorite character was Bonnie because she took care of Sylvia while she was ill and she stayed strong and didn't cry when her parents left for a very long time.

What I liked about this story was that it described a lot of ways to survive in the cold and what to wear. Also, it had cool adventures and problems. I would recommend this book because it shows courage and it shows how to survive in the cold and specific details on how to do them. My favorite character was Natasha, the Indian woman who believes in the old ways because she knows how to do so many things.  Even though she is in her eighties, she is really tough. The main character, who is also Natasha, changes because she believes in the old ways and thinks that it is better to learn that way to almost liking the new ways because she uses them to help her friends and herself. I would give this book a rating of 4/5 stars.
