Holes
Book by: Louis Sachar
Book blurb by: Zakaria
It was mostly about a kid named Stanley Yelnats the third the cool thing is that if your read Stanley backwards it spells Yelnats and Stanley spelled backward is Yelnats. Stanley is innocent of the thing they say he did which was he stole a pair of shoes the famous baseball players shoes sweet feet. He has a choice of going to jail or a camp to dig holes to find character in there self. I would recommend this book because it is something that would really happen.Topics: Uncategorized | No Comments »

Al Capone Does My Shirts
By: Gennifer Choldenko
Blurb by: Arch T.
Wanna read a phenomenal book? Well of course you do! Then you need to read Al Capone Does My Shirts. In this phenomenal book twelve year old Moose Flannagan has to move to Alcatraz Island because of his dads new job. Now his only friends are Piper the wardens daughter and Theresa. Moose always has to watch his sister who has autism which stops him from playing with his friends. If you want to know the end read this amazing book. I liked this story because of the setting and how it ends (which I can't give away). I didn't like the part when Moose sees that Natilie (his sister) gone when he comes back from looking for the baseball. I would recommend this book to a friend because of the action that takes place. Moose changes through out the story to learn to care for his sister more than he was before.

Chasing Vermeer: Book Blurb

Chasing Vermeer
By Blue Balliet
Book Blurb By: Joey S.
The book I am “blurbing” about is Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliet. It was mostly about two kids who live in Hyde Park and how they “stumble” into an adventure. The main characters are11 year old Petra and Calder. A scandal that started with three letters threatens something too unimaginable to lose. What are the letters? What will happen to the precious item? What is the item? Read to find out! I for sure recommend this book for its fast paced, mysterious, and even amazing voice. I enjoyed this book so much that I found I couldn’t stop! Great Book! Amazing! *****/***** (Five stars out of five stars!)Topics: Uncategorized | No Comments »

Holes
By Louis Sachar
Blurb by Alan Q.
The story starts by a boy named Stanley, he had a choice to go to jail or to go to camp green lake. Camp green lake was a place infested with lizards that can kill you easily. They had to dig a 5-foot circumference hole each day and got a break only if they only find something interesting, like some jewels and cash. After a long time zero, Stanley’s friend escaped with nothing and went to a place with only onions, but they dug a hole and got a hole to get water from. After a week they plan to go back and once they go back they find a suitcase and they do not know what is in there. After they get light, there are lizards all over the hole, they get afraid but do not get bitten and killed. They eventually get out and find out what is in the suitcase, sparkling jewels. I will with no doubt recommend this book to a friend.

In the book The Titan’s Curse, Percy Jackson must go out and find his best friend Grover who is a satyr, he finds out that if Grover gets killed, Percy will get killed too. This is because Grover had created an empathy link between the two of them, so if one of them dies, the other one dies as well. Annabeth Chase is also one of Percy’s best friend’s, (daughter of Athena) and she must go with him to find out that Grover had found two more half-bloods. Holes
By Louis Sachar
Blurb By Gregroy
Welcome to the life of Stanley Yelnats you may notice that his last name is his first name backwards. But that is not the point. The point is he is shipped to Camp Green Lake. But when he gets there. There is no green or lake. Just a desert, but people say back then that it was green and there was a lake. Stanley gets off the bus and finds out that there is one thing you do every day dig a hole that is five feet deep and five feet wide. As he stays longer he gets used to it, gets a nickname like every one else. There is Armpit, Zigzag, X-ray, Zero, Magnet, and Squid. Stanley then goes on a dangerous path that turns in to a lucky one. Also, after your done with this go on to his sequel Small Steps.Topics: Uncategorized | No Comments »

Color Me Dark

By: From The Dear America Series
Blurb By: Annie R.
Color Me Dark is about a girl named Nellie that lives in the time of the great migration, when slavery ended. She has a big family with a sister named Erma Jean. They live in a funeral home with their Grandparents and mom and dad. I would say Nellie is pretty brave and Erma Jean is more sensitive but they both stand up for each other. Near the middle of the story Nellie and her mom dad, and sister move to Chicago. At first Nellie feels home sick but at the end she likes Chicago and wherever her mom, dad, and sister live she lives no matter where it is. I would recommend this book for someone who likes history.Topics: Uncategorized | No Comments »

Bud, Not Buddy
By: Christopher Paul Curtis
Book Report By: Louis S.
Bud, not Buddy, is a motherless boy from Flint, Michigan. He lived in the Home, and orphanage, when he got moved to stay with the Amoses, but after getting into massive trouble for nothing, Bud runs away. Bud is determined to find his Herman E. Calloway, whom he thinks is his Dad. In his adventurous, yet funny adventure, Bud is able to track down his Dad who is the leader of the band “The Dusky Devastators of the Depression. After tracking them down, Bud reveals the name of his mother to Herman E. Calloway, and Bud is shocked to find out that Herman E. Calloway is actually his… This was a great read. It was humourous, because of his book “Bud Caldwell’s Rules and Things for Having a funner Life and Making a Better Liar Out of Yourself, yet it still manages to be one of those serious books. I would definitely rate this book the highest ratisng possible, it was worth the read. I would definitely recommend his book to anyone who is looking for a good read, there is so much more to the story than what I wrote. You only need to remember one thing, it’s Bud, not Buddy.Topics: Uncategorized | No Comments »
