Eat, Pray, Love
By: Elizabeth Gilbert
Blurb By: Louisa
In this amazing true story, Elizabeth Gilbert finds herself wanting to leave her husband. Whether this means divorce, or just a break, she does not know. She goes for- no. I shouldn’t tell you that. So, she goes to the three places she wanted to go to for a very long time. Those three places are, Italy (Eat), India (Pray), and the Indonesian island of Bali (Love). In Italy she finds herself learning Italian, enjoying herself, and meeting new friends. And of course, loving the food. In India, she stays in a huge place of prayer. She has a hard time praying though. A very, very hard time. Finally, in Bali, she goes back to a very old man, who she went to earlier in her life. When she is here, she collides with a man who may just be the man of her dreams. I can’t tell you the end, but I hope you like it.
I would rate this book five stars. I would say that even though there is not much dialogue, it was very well written. This book is for people who love to read other people’s experiences.

Allie Kimball and her best friend, Tamara Thompson, are about to start sixth grade. Tamara is worried that she won’t look good on the first day of school, but she can’t wait. Allie isn’t worried one bit. That is, until the first day. She ends up looking like strawberry shortcake in her white pants, pink shirt and curly red hair and freckles! She’s pretty sure her day can’t get worse- but she’s wrong. She and Tam (Allies nickname for Tamara) are only in one class together. Tam and their old friend, Renee, are in almost every other class together. When it’s time for science, (their shared class) Allie is stuck with this weird looking guy- she describes him as a “nork,” her made up word meaning, “someone beyond both nerditude and dorkdom.” But, their is one upside- there’s a soccer team. Allie wants to try out, but Tam wants to be a cheerleader. Allie is torn by soccer and her not-so-best-friend-anymore.
Will Allie get the better of sixth grade? Or will she have to suffer the whole year long? Well, you have to read to find out!
This book was great! I would give this book four out of five stars because, while it was a book that was hard to put down, you could get confused about some things that are going on. I would recommend this book to anyone who is about to go into sixth grade- as long as you won’t worry that sixth grade will totally blow on the first day! And you sixth and seventh graders out there- compare this to your experiences with sixth grade!

As she climbed up to look through her looking glass, she stepped through and into the magical world of wonder..... Wonderland. Alice goes into a magical world with extraordinary creatures like huge living chess pieces, talking flowers and more. She first meets the flowers in the garden, where she runs into the red queen, who tells her that if she goes through 8 squares (like a pawn would in a chess game, because the white pawn was too young to play anyway) then she would become queen. So she went through the squares and met creatures from poems and fairy tales like Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, The Unicorn and the Lion, even the Red King’s Messenger, and a bunch of others. She went through all the experiences like running with the king and his messengers to watch the Lion and Unicorn fight for the Kings Crown, she even listened to stories and songs like when the white knight saved her from the red, tweedledee’s story about the walrus and the carpenter, and Humpty Dumpty (One I thought was a bit funny) told a story that “didn’t start or finish- just the middle” right before he fell off the wall! When she finally got to the 8th square and found a crown on her head, she was so pleased she almost forgot about going home. But when things go wrong, will Alice be able to get home? Or had she ever left home? Read Alice Through the Looking-Glass to find out!
I really loved this book, it’s definently better than the movie! It was so wonderful because it had actions and feelings that you felt like you were part of, like when “All the King’s Horses and all the King’s Men” went racing to “Put Humpty back together again” and she was in the middle of men riding horses to fix Humpty Dumpty you felt like you were there with her. It has a lot of story to tell all packed inside this amazing book! Anyone would like it, but I’d recommend it to 4th and 5th graders. I hope you like the fantastic book, Alice Through the Looking-Glass!

His mother got really upset at Catherine. She decided to apologize. When she apologized the boy named Jason has a book that has words written on cards that he points to when he wants to talk. He forgives her and tells Catherine that he likes her drawing. Catherine gives it to him, Jason and Catherine become great friends and they really begin to understand each other. The girl next door started to move in and they begin to hang out. Her new neighbor asked her if she wanted to go to a dance and that she should ask Jason.
