We have returned to Earth!  We had a blast this week making our own planets and naming them!  We made a great moon snack from rice cakes! We got to make our own aliens from clay and decorate them with jewels and pipe cleaners.  We then put them into their "saucers."  We also used a coffee can to create shooting stars in the sky.  We loved playing with our galaxy playdough and moon sand!  The rocket center continued to be the popular place to be with our Space IDs. We made a class book by asking questions about space and astronauts!  Sadly, we had to return to Earth one day and start getting ready for Valentine's Day!  We did have fun making footballs in honor of Super Bowl Sunday though!  Have a great weekend families!

Our future astronauts began learning about outer space this week!  We toured space in our "rocketship station" in Dramatic Play.  We flew around the planets in our solar system at the blocks center!  The kids did a beautiful job making and designing our planets!  Our beautiful galaxy playdough was a hit and the kids loved putting astronauts and rockets on the "rocks".  We made moon sand and the kids loved making the "moon buggy" explore the moon!  We also made telescopes to look at the stars!  We went the library for the second time and we had a blast with Miss Judy!  We sang songs and listened to a book about space. The afternoon class got a special treat and got to listen to a new story for a friend's birthday!  What a great week and we are excited to explore space more!

We had a short week but it sure was busy!  We played with the insta-snow in our sensory table as the real snowfall did not come until Friday.  We had a pizza relay to see which team could put the toppings on their pizza the quickest!  We made shape penguins and found letters in our name.  We also did a snowman collage with jewels, "snowballs", mitten stickers, and (our favorite) GLITTER GLUE!  The kids worked ahead and began making telescopes with pipe builders in the block center.  The PM class on Friday got to help us paint our rocket ship for the upcoming week!  A busy week but we are excited to come back next week and be in outer space!

We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing break and holiday!  This week, we've mainly been transitioning back into school.  We played in our pizza parlor center this week!  We've had a great time making pizza for our friends and taking orders!  We took out our train table and had a blast working with it!  We make snowmen out of "snow paint" (shaving cream and glue).  We acted out "The Mitten" by Jan Brett during story time!  We got to each take turns playing different animals!  We also counted buttons to put on our snowmen!  After a great week, we are all ready for the next half of the school year!

We've had an amazingly, fantastic ACP Spirit Week!  We got to dress funny and make funny faces!  We got to make necklaces, reindeer, and funky snowman!  Our holiday party was so much fun!  We loved singing for our family and friends and eating yummy food!  After such a crazy, wacky week, we are glad we have a couple weeks to recover!  Thank you families for coming to our party and your thoughtful gifts!  We are so excited to see you back here in January!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FAMILIES!  HAVE A WONDERFUL BREAK!

We have had a great time getting into winter!  We set up a holiday center in the dramatic play area.  The children have had a blast pretending to bake cookies, trimming the tree, and playing dreidel!   We practiced our fine motor skills stringing foam beads onto pipe cleaners to make some festive jewelry.  We also started up our word wall by putting our names up alphabetically. The children have had fun using the word wall to write or stamp their friends' names. We have been using peppermint play dough that's green with red sparkles.  We even made a snowman snack using an english muffin, cream cheese, chocolate chips, candy corn and half a graham cracker!  What a great week!
