The ABCs of Kindergarten

  • A If your going to be ABSENT, please call Shari Theer (our school nurse) at 847-724-6800.

  • C Want to join CHESS-Ed? It meets Tuesdays from 2:00-2:45 in room 48.  For more information contact Ms. Alice Holt at or 847-775-9906.
  • D Please DON’T send Birthday Invitations to school, unless you are inviting the entire classroom.

  • F We will go on 3 FIELDTRIPS this school year.  Chaperones can sign up at Open House.
  • G In Kindergarten, we GO OUTSIDE for recess every day. Please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
  • H Kindergarten school HOURS are 8:50am-2:00pm.  If we have a 1/2 day, the hours will be from 8:50am-11:15am.
  • I Stop by the ITC (Information Technology Center).  You will see Mrs. Geidner each week for book check out in the ITC.
  • J We JUST cannot stress enough how important reading is!  Read to your child and encourage your child to read to you.

  • L Kindergarten students have LUNCH every day.  If your child is ordering hot lunch, please be sure to add funds online to their account.  Questions, please check out this link:
  • M In Kindergarten, we use Investigations in Number, Data, and Space as our MATH program.  It is a very activity orientated program, which promotes mathematical thinking.
  • N Our Classrooms are now NUT-FREE.  Please be sure to send a healthy snack every day to school with your child.  Remember these need to be nut-free!
  • O Extended Care is provided by ONE HOPE UNITED.  To contact them, please
  • P Kindergarten will have PHYSICAL EDUCATION every day!  Please be sure your child wears or brings gym shoes every day to school.
  • Q Kindergarten goes by so QUICKLY.  Please remember that it is a journey, not a race.  Enjoy the little moments!

  • S In case of a SCHOOL CLOSING, you should receive an automated voice message.  If you do not receive a phone call and are unsure, please be sure to check out our school website:  You can find our latest school calendar and lots of important school information on our website.
  • T Your child will be marked TARDY if they arrive after 9:00am.  Please be sure to get your child to school on-time.  Kindergarten will be let into the building at 8:50am.
  • U  We know that each and every child is UNIQUE, and we do our best to maximize their potential.
  • V  We will have 4 parties this school year: Halloween, Winter, VALENTINE’S DAY, and End of the Year.  If you’d like to help out, please contact our Room Parents.
