Thank you to all the families who supported the Carson Coupon Days – We made over $1000 on this fundraising event!!!

Since the beginning of the year we have made approximately $5500 in fundraising.  We are slowly trying to reach our goal which is $16,000.

BAKE SALES:

Our next bake sale will be on December 9th – Friday.  Mr. Minsley’s homeroom is in charge of this bake sale.  There will be information sent to each student in the homeroom regarding what items they will be responsible to bring.  Please help support the event!!!

Lou Malnati’s Night - Please note the change!!! Tuesday January 24th, 2012 - Lou Malnati’s will donate 20% of every delivery or carryout order back to the Marie Murphy towards our 8th grade fundraising efforts.  Please print the flyer and make sure you include it with your order.  Click Here for the NEW Flyer!

Dodgeball Tournament – The date is set for January 27th, 2012 – Friday!  There will be a permission slip and a waiver form that all students who are participating in the event will need to have filled out.  There will be pizza and concessions sold that evening, as well as a raffle with some great prizes!  It will be a fun evening – so mark your calendars!!!

Graduation Packets - will be mailed right after the holidays.  Please make sure you read this information carefully!

Community Outreach- Starting in January, there will be several opportunities for 8th graders to give back to the community.  Students will be able to choose which dates and places they would like to visit and volunteer at.  This is a wonderful opportunity for all 8th graders to get involved in.  Information will be given to the students after the holiday break.

Mark your calendars:  We are having Taffy Apple sales October 7th during the lunch periods at both Marie Murphy and Avoca West.

CARSON DAYS: Scheduled for Friday, November 11th and Saturday, November 12th. 8th Grade Students will be receiving 3 coupon booklets each to sell at $5 a book.  Please encourage your child to sell to neighbors and friends so we can reach our goal!!!  If your child does not sell their books they MUST return them back to the school.  Each book will be numbered and they will need to bring either the money or the books back to their homeroom teacher.

BAKE SALES: There will be four bake sales throughout the year~

The first bake sale will be Mr. Gravagna’s homeroom – October 28th

Mr. Minsley’s homeroom – December 9th

Mr. Katz’s homeroom -  January 13th

Ms. Cunningham’s homeroom – Febuary 24th

Each advisory/homeroom will be responsible for bring in items for the bakesale that day.  Please make sure all items are nut free.  More information will be handed out to the students in homeroom.

LOU MALNATI’S FAMILY NIGHT:  JANUARY 24th, 2012 – WEDNESDAY

Also please note that if you are writing a check for our 8th grade fundraising events, they should be made out to CASH or Marie Murphy 2012 Graduation Committee.

8TH GRADE CARWASH:

The 8th Grade Carwash was a huge success! We raised over $2800 towards our fundraising goals! A big thank you to Bill and Stacy Wipperfurth for all their hard work organizing the event.  Also, thank you to our parent volunteers: The Altmans, The Zelinskys, The Kodenderas, Patrice Bazianos, Traci Lee, Jan Sollitt, Dena Pavolpolous, Elfreide Weber-Howe, Brook Redemann, Jill Wolfe, Dory Morgan Hixon and Maria Costas and to all the students that did a wonderful job of washing the cars. Mr. Katz’s homeroom was the winning classroom that sold the most combined tickets and Margarita Costas was the individual winner.
