Chamber and Concert String Orchestras will start this Wednesday, August 31.
Which section will be ready to play at 7:30 AM?
I can’t wait to see you all and get started on making music together.
There is a change this year with ” donut duty” time. Because of allergy issues, families will not provide donuts for a rehearsal. PLEASE, take time for breakfast before school and/or bring along an easy to consume energy bar for after the rehearsal. I know this has always been a fun thing to look forward to but we have been instructed to change the weekly “Donut Duty”.
Concert Dates for the school year:
Thursday, December 8 at 6:30 PM also a school concert on this date
Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 PM also a school concert on this date.

Wow, the schedule is done and notes have been sent home. If you don’t know your new schedule, please get in touch with me by email.
The orchestra is starting up on Wednesday, Sept 9 at 7:30 AM. Lessons will begin the week after on Monday, September 14. WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE AND PLAY YOUR INSTRUMENTS THE WEEK OF SEPT 8-11. Please have your name on the case and the book.
This is going to be a great year with our new string teacher, Mrs. Katz. She is excited to be a part our school and music department and will be leading one of the orchestras along with teaching suzuki lessons.

It is great to be back here and hearing all of the progress made over the last month. Some of the musicians did a fair amount of snoozing over the holiday break. Some did a great deal of practicing and it shows. The new thing is that all of the first grade are now ready to be in the large group classes. All of the first grade string players have been scheduled for another class in addition to their semi private class. If you did not receive the email from us concerning the new schedule, please get in touch with me. It will take a bit of time to get them on board with a class scheduled at their recess but it is worth all of the effort. Keep up the great work.Nancy Magill
