Why Baby Hippos Are Amazing

hippo in greek means water horse. The hippo is a large mostly herbivorous mammal and is the 3^rd largest land mammal and weighs 1.5-3tonnes. Hippos are semi-aquatic and live in rivers, lakes and swamps. Most hippos cool off be hanging around in the mud or water. Baby hippos are born in the water, and later come out to eat some grass.

Even though hippos look like pigs they are close cousins to the cetaceans, whales, and porpoises. Hippos are recognizable by there barrel shaped torso, teeth, mouth, hairless body, stubby legs, and tremendous size.Hippos are artiodactyls or even toed ungulates. Some examples of this are pigs, cows, camels, and deer. As you can see is that all 5 of these animals have hooves. Hippos have been clocked at 30kmph (19mph) and can easily out run a human in a short distance race. The five different subspecies of hippos have been described based on morphological (skull and geographical differences).

Until 1909 hippos and pigs where grouped with pigs because of there molar patterns. Several lines of evidence like DNA, blood proteins, and more, show that hippos are closely related to Cetaceans, Whales, Dolphins, and Porpoises. Recent theory's say hippos and whales share a common semi-aquatic ancestor that lived 60 million years ago, but the group split 54 million years ago.

In conclusion hippos had a log trip to get hear, and they are awesome... because they are. So the next time you see a hippo remember they are a lot stronger and faster than you are.

Grade-wise:

The three most annoying grades in the WORLD (or maybe just me. You never know,) are 79%, 89% and 99%. It could just be me, or it could be the whole. Entire. UNIVERSE.

Pie and Pi-wise

Who thought of this?? It may be amusing, but really, pie and pi are WAY to different to sound the same. Pie (according to me) tastes GOOD, and is a mouthful of goodness. Pi, on the other hand, is MATH and repetitive numbers, and a mouthful of more math and numbers.

There’s a difference, peeps.

There, Their, and They’re-wise
I have nothing against this. It makes sense.

School-wise
Don’t hate me, but I think that school is okay. It helps people do stuff in the future.

The Future-wise
I think that if people put their heads together, we can get that happy, clean, pristine (hey look, it rhymes) future that many people want.

Wise-wise
I think people should be very wise... Wise.

Joey’s Tech of the Week- Fun With Siri!

Recently, the iPhone 4S came out, unveiling Siri, a virtual tech assistant. The virtual assistant soon became a topic of amusement, since many of the endless questions you can ask Siri are answered wittily. For example, you can ask "What is the Best Phone?" and get responses like "You're kidding, right?", "The one you're holding", and "I think you've already answered that question"! Furthermore, you can ask even sillier questions, like "Who's your daddy?", followed by the response, "You are"! One last classic Siri moment is "Knock Knock": "Knock Knock. Who's there? Joey. Joey who? Joey, I don't do knock-knock jokes."

In conclusion, the Siri found exclusively on the iPhone 4S supplies helpful functions, as well as hilarious answers. And if you have the desire to find out all of what Siri can reply, you can go out and buy the iPhone 4S for only $199.99!
