Welcome to the Orchestra!

Our program is one of the strongest in our state of Illinois and we’re proud to share it with you. Our unique program is featured in the book Music Makes the Difference: Programs and Partnerships pub. 1999, by MENC

The Orchestra program involves students from two area junior high schools:

Wilmette Junior High and Marie Murphy School

Students meet at Marie Murphy School for before-school (7:10-7:50 a.m.) rehearsals. There are two morning orchestras (Concert Strings and Senior Strings). Students are grouped by ability level, not by age.

Each year holds special opportunities for the orchestra students. This year featured a memorable performance with Barrage in November, 2009.
