Students can begin a string instrument any time during their junior high years. They receive small group instruction once or twice a week. These lessons are given in their own school, on a rotating schedule: perhaps a student misses his 2nd period class this week to have an orchestra sectional. Next week the sectional will be third period and the following week fourth period…this way the student misses the same class only once every 6 weeks.Beginners who start at the beginning of the school year perform in December and May. These students are integrated into the Concert Strings as quickly as possible.
