The Avoca Parents and Teachers Council (PTC) will hold its next meeting at Marie Murphy School’s Community Room on Tuesday, November 9, at 7:00 p.m.  Motivational and educational speaker Chris McBrien will be speaking on a number of the district’s Social and Emotional Learning Standards, including character building and anti-bullying.  Mr. McBrien’s session will run approximately 50-60 minutes, with time for questions and answers. 

Chris McBrien has 20 years of experience in public speaking.  He is a trained motivational speaker, fine-arts teacher, classically trained comic actor and variety artist with performance experience spanning the US and UK.  He attended Western Illinois University before moving to London to work with the Royal Court Theater and has an Early Childhood Education and Child Psychology background.  He has specialized in over 400 yearly character school assembly programs for primary, elementary, intermediate and middle school/junior high school.  For more information on Mr. McBrien’s program, visit www.magicstoryteller.biz.
