Priority registration for the Avoca Community Preschool will run through January 17, 2011.  Avoca community families receive priority placement through a mail-in lottery.  For information about the registration process or to have forms sent to you, please contact Kat Cetrone in the Avoca Pupil Services Office at 847-251-3138.  You may also make your request via e-mail at cetronek@avoca37.org.  All forms are also posted on our Website at avoca37.org/communitypreschool. 

An Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, December 8, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and on Friday, December 10, 2010, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Reservations are required.  Contact us at 847-251-3138 or cetronek@avoca37.org.  You may tour the classrooms, meet the teachers and see our preschool in action. 

The Avoca Community Preschool is housed in Marie Murphy School at 2921 Illinois Road in Wilmette and serves children ages 3-5, with and without special needs.  The a.m. and p.m. classes are co-taught by an early childhood teacher with a master’s degree and a full-time speech-language pathologist.  Also in the classroom is a program assistant along with other support staff, as needed.  With an enrollment of 15 students per class, Avoca Community Preschool offers a 5:1 student/teacher ratio.  Morning classes for 3- and 4-year-olds are held Monday through Thursday from 8:50 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.  Afternoon classes for 4- and 5-year-olds are held Monday through Friday form 12:25 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
