  • Students’ cell-phones should be turned off during the day while we are touring.  However, students will be allowed to use their phones at the designated time to call home when we check into the hotel (May 9 @ 8:30pm).

WEDNESDAY, May 8

  • Please refrain from parking in the drop-off zone.  The coach buses will need access to this area in the morning.

  • Report to Marie Murphy at 5:15AM

  • We will leave promptly for Springfield at  5:30AM

THURSDAY, May 9

  • We will arrive at Marie Murphy School at approximately 9:00pm (latest estimated time).

  • We may arrive as early as 8:30pm.  The students will call home approximately 30 minutes prior to arrival to provide a more accurate time.  It would be greatly appreciated if parents could block off this time frame to insure that all the students will be picked up in a timely manner.

  • Please refrain from parking in the drop-off zone.  The buses will need to pull into this area to drop off the students.

Packing

Clothing Tips

  • Temperature- check weather.com

  • 1st day – Nice & neat clothes (no sweats or warm-ups).  Jeans without holes or nicer shorts are acceptable.  In terms of a top, something to the equivalent of a polo short-sleeve shirt is acceptable.

  • 2nd day – Casual clothes are acceptable.  Students should prepare layers of clothing for colder and warmer weather.  A pair of longer pants and shorts should be packed just in case.  A sweatshirt or jacket is recommended for our tour of the Mark Twain Cave

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes (no new shoes).

Carry-On Bag

  • Handbook

  • Spending Money

  • rain poncho, light jacket or hooded sweatshirt

  • iPod, music player

  • Cell phone

  • Camera

  • Snacks (no dairy products or products containing nuts please).  Drinks should be in plastic bottles with a screw-on cap.  No canned drinks or glass bottles.

  • Book, magazine, and playing cards

  • Medication in a small bag with student’s name written on it.  These bags should be given to either Mir. Henley (boys) or Mrs. Mazur (girls) upon arrival.

  • Inhalers or Epi-pens

  • contact lens case and solution

  • sunscreen

Check-In Luggage

  • Students will not have access to this bag until we arrive at the hotel.

  • Bright Spark Tag filled out and attached to luggage

  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)

  • Swimming suit, sandals & towel (should be packed in orange Bright Spark bag)

  • Sleepwear

  • Clothes for the 2nd day.
