Marie Murphy Roots and Shoots Club students wrote and were awarded a $200 grant to obtain new recycling bins for our school. Four new bins for recycling bottles, cans and glass were purchased with these funds and placed in hallways that did not have them. Adding these bins to the four obtained through a similar grant last year means that people in each classroom hallway, the cafeteria, and the administrative wing all have easy access to bins for a variety of recyclable materials. Head custodian Fred Bryden reports that the new bins have resulted in an an increase in recycling over the last two year.
