Welcome to Ms. Zimmer’s technology blog!
I am a full time technology facilitator at Avoca West Elementary School in Glenview, Illinois. I teach 4th and 5th grade Encore Technology, a project-based technology enrichment class. I also teach two sections of 1st grade Encore Technology. In Encore Tech we use a number of engaging tech tools for our projects like iPhoto, iMovie, Photoshop, GarageBand, iTunes, KidPix, Safari, Scratch, Google Apps and Comic Life. When I’m not teaching, I meet weekly with the fourth and fifth grade teams to plan exciting lessons using technology . This year the fourth grade classrooms received Promethean boards. In fifth grade, the students will be using new MacBooks! I am looking forward to the 2010-2011 school year.

hi kim, i like your page and blog...i think you are number one...
Thanks so much for welcoming Greg and me to your classroom. We enjoyed seeing the students work with technology!
I like how in alli and my's project for birds don't sing we made a funny sound effect by just squacking into the mic.
I really enjoyed this project because of the foley art. I think that maybe you could give us more of a choice in the poems next tie, other wise it was a lot of fun and if you do it next year the kids will have a lot of fun like me.
The thing I liked about the "Foley Art" projects is when I was trying different vocals on the voices.
I loved doing the sound effects and recording my voice. I learned a lot on garage band. How do you make echoing voice because I really liked it?
My favorite sound effect was the shriek of terror in the middle of the poem. I made it by compressing my scream to do it. I love the Gleaming music at the end.
It just totally catches your attention.
I liked the " Foley Art" Because all the sound effects because they were really cool to see how the sound effects with the recording would go so good together.
Hey Ms. Zimmer!
I love your picture.
From all of your other comments, it sounds like you are having a blast in Tech!
