8th Grade Car Wash Fundraiser
As their first and biggest fundraiser of the year, the 8th-grade students host a car wash fundraiser with all proceeds to support their class gift and their end-of-year festivities. You can purchase a car wash ticket from an 8th-grader/their parent, or bring $10 cash to the MM school parking lot on Saturday, September 21, 2019, anywhere between 9:30am-2: 30 pm. Parent volunteers are needed for this event, so sign up here. *Rain date: September 28, same time.*

Book Fair - October 21-24, 2019
In collaboration with Anderson's Book Store, the PTC helps bring a wide and rich selection of young adult, adult, beginning reader, and read-aloud picture books to Avoca's ITC. Proceeds from the Avoca West Book Fair benefit a variety of PTC programs and the ITC itself. Students may purchase books at the fair during school hours. The fair will also be open during Parent-Teacher Conferences in the afternoon and evening. The PTC is requesting volunteers to help set up and take down the book fair and assist in the student's preview day. To volunteer for this event, please sign up here

Avoca Different Learners - Meet & Greet Event
When: September 23 (evening) & 25th (morning)
Come meet Avoca's New Director of Pupil Services Kristen Moore either the night of September 23 from 6:45-8pm or the morning of September 25th from 8:30-9: 30 am and learn more about our special needs community. ADL is a support and resource group for parents of children with all needs, including ADD, ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, and dyslexia. We also have members whose children have no formal diagnosis but struggle socially or academically. Our group is a great way to lessen the isolation special needs parents feel and gain new friendships. Both events will be held in Avoca West’s ITC and the event is open to all parents. For more information, please contact either Louise Dechovitz (847-980-0833) or Helen Lucaitis (312-550-2077).
