Avoca opened its doors to the new staff for the 2018-19 school year on August 23rd.  Fresh faces walk in to a packed day of learning and networking in order to plug in the the culture, procedures and expectations that are important for a new beginning at Avoca.  


The district is proud and excited to welcome the following new employees to join the family for the 2018-2019 school year:

Lauren Abrams- 5th grade

Cristina Chung- Speech and Language Pathologist, Marie Murphy

Erin Dowdle- Kindergarten

Jenna Freeman- EL, Avoca West

Marissa Greengoss-Instructional Assistant, Marie Murphy

Allison Kay- EL, Marie Murphy

Michael Meyers- Interim Director of Pupil Services

Becca Oppenheim- Strings Teacher, Avoca West

Trista Raczyla- 5th Grade

Tim Thomas- Interim Director of Pupil Services


Avoca is looking forward to beginning the new school year with so many experienced and uniquely inspiring educators.
