About Me
I am the 6th grade English teacher at Marie Murphy. I joined the Avoca staff in 2006. I received my undergraduate degree in elementary education from Purdue University and my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. Currently, I live in Arlington Heights with my husband, daughter, son, and dog named Charlie. In my free time I enjoy reading, gardening, hiking, running and dancing.
Statement of Philosophy
"Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think."-Albert Einstein This quote really shows what I believe about teaching and learning. My ELA classroom workshop will provide an environment where students learn to think.
